Expanded Cloudsmith Datadog integration: New metrics and events for usage, members and policy violations
We’ve expanded the Cloudsmith Datadog integration to include new metrics and events that give you deeper visibility into your Cloudsmith workspace’s artifact usage, access patterns, and compliance.
What’s new
We’ve added a new metric, cloudsmith.member.active, to surface the active members of your Cloudsmith workspace.
We’ve added quota usage metrics for workspace usage relative to plan allowances.
We’ve added new events, including:
A member summary event
Audit log events
Vulnerability and license policy violation events
To get the new metrics and events, you’ll need to update the Cloudsmith Datadog integration. You can upgrade it by running following command in your Datadog Agent host:
After the installation, please restart the Datadog Agent and ensure that the conf.d/cloudsmith.d/conf.yaml file is correctly configured with valid Cloudsmith credentials.
If you haven’t tried the integration yet, it’s easy to get started. Check out our integration guide. The integration lets you surface actionable Cloudsmith telemetry in your existing observability stack. Contact us if you have questions or feedback on these new capabilities.
As organizations use Cloudsmith to manage increasingly large volumes of packages and metadata, the demands on search have changed. To ensure we provide a performant and reliable search experience for all customers, we’ve moved from an implicit to an explicit search model…
We've introduced Client Logs into the new web app user interface, delivering a significantly improved experience for gaining visibility into package usage across your Cloudsmith workspace. Previously available in our legacy UI, Client Logs is now more performant, accessible, and interactive. This allows you to visualize, filter, and export information to better understand how your packages are consumed, whether by CI/CD pipelines, IDEs, or external consumers…
Last year, we introduced Cloudsmith’s new web app user interface hosted at app.cloudsmith.com and shared our plans to retire the legacy interface on cloudsmith.io. We knew there were a few key features we wanted to bring to the new UI before deprecating the old one, and customer feedback since launch has reinforced those priorities. As such, we have updated our timeline…
The Cloudsmith status page is now available at https://status.cloudsmith.com. As part of this change, we’ve adopted a new incident management platform to improve how we manage incidents and communicate updates. The new platform gives us better tools to share clear, timely information when incidents happen and when they are resolved…
We now verify the authenticity of sign-ins from new or unrecognized devices. Because this is a new change, you may be asked to verify a device even if it has accessed Cloudsmith before. By confirming both your login credentials and the device, we help prevent unauthorized access with minimal disruption to your workflow…
